first you need to burn the flab - by doing cardio - then work on your abs once they will be seen :-)
The Bridge position is great for core strength, and your not on your back, i'm sure if you google it you can get an image of the correct position, but make sure your bum is down and you body is straight and flat.0 -
i do about an hour and a half of cardio a day. but i feel like that is not what is going to get rid of all this extra stomach i have. so trying to work on tighting that while i do cardio.0

Isolating your abs is one of the slowest ways to reduce fat. Do squats and dead-lifts! Compound lifts is a great way to drop body fat.0

This is not true, you can "burn the flab" through lifting as well. Please do more research before you post bro-science like this again.0 -
thanks for the ideas.0

Just trying to help out...i never said you don't burn flab through lifting...we're not professionals (or most of us aren't) and we're not expecting professional answers...just the help of fellow members.0 -

Not trying to be mean, just stating truth, but like i said earlier:Isolating your abs is one of the slowest ways to reduce fat.
You already have abs, they are just under a layer of fat. If you want to see them eat less move more. Eat less that is easy. Move more as in move more than just your abs. Sure spend some time on them, but also work every. single. muscle. you've got. Working multiple muscles at one time burns more calories than doing just one. Such as squats vs curls.
You said you didn't care too much for lifting, then cardio: run around, jump rope, burpees, swim, zumba, etc0 -
If you only resistance training your are doing is your abs, then consider this:
Do you also only brush your front teeth? When you do your hair do you also do the back?0 -
No . I do an hour and a half to two hours cardio including treadmill , elliptical , and stationary bike. Also arm lifts and leg lifts maxing out at about 40lbs. Just looking for some other creative ways to work on my stomach because that is my main focus at the moment. and sit ups hurt my tail bone. So I was just trying to reach out to other people to find new ideas.0

Sit ups kill my tailbone, too, so I haven't done them since I was 15. I do crunches instead. Never an inkling of pain. It's really quite comfortable for the back. Very low impact and a simple move that, when done correctly, is the best exercise that I know of for building those target muscles. With sit ups, so much energy is wasted elsewhere.
That being said, "addison" is right, as far as I've been studying. To really burn fat and be able to keep it off, you need to weight train and build up that beautiful, lean muscle. It doesn't even have to be hardcore to have amazing results. If you want to really see your abs, as in washboard, that's extremely low body fat for an everyday kind of mommy that does nothing but cardio and clean diet.
Then again, I could be full of hooey.0 -
You could try plank/other yoga exercises. Also you can do rotations (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EWgIu1dP1w) , and if you have anything you can hold in your hands (dumbbells, milk jugs, etc) or even a bar... you can use those for this exercise - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dmax8JxXXbc
Also pallof (palloff?) presses. Take a look on YouTube.0 -

Thank you for not allowing broscience to be spread. It is the plague of the fitness community.0 -

Deadlifts, squats, lunges (start with body weight or light weight until you've got the form down and then start progressing into heavy weights). All hugely incorporate your core, while also being calorie burning, extremely effective strength exercises for your entire body.0
