I love to swim and do laps most days. I fine it to be a really good all over work out, and skip strength training because of it. Do you think that is ok, or should I add in some weight work?

Hi Jenny! I swim too and used to do just that and only that. However about a year ago a friend introduced me to the all-over workout and I think I'm not only a better swimmer now, but I found my body changed in great ways as a result! I alternate my swimming with one day running, one day spin class, and a weight training/resistance training workout. It took me a long time to branch out from my one-activity routine, but once I did I was pleasantly surprised. Be prepared to have to push yourself for the first month or two because it is too easy to revert back to what you know when you're out of your comfort zone, but persevere - it is well worth it
Good luck!

I agree that other exercises will help with your swimming, but also why not revamp your swimming routine? When I was swimming my coach would have us do a 500m warm up, then speed races (50mx 10 or something) trying to beat your previous time, just kicks with a kick board and always alternating strokes.0
