The Unhealthy Healthy Choice...

You forgot to bring lunch to work, you have no other choice but to grab something from a fast food restaurant - "fast food" does have a bad rap - but there are many healthy choices to be made

My unhealthy healthy choices are:

KFC - Grilled Chicken Breast, green beans, and corn on the cob
Zaxbys - House Grilled Chicken House Salad w/ 1 vinaigrette dressing - 1/2 texas toast

What are your unhealthy healthy choices?

Chipotle- Any salad or burrito bowl (minus the cheese and sour cream). It's an incredibly balanced meal!

Qudoba, naked burrito 1/2 rice no cheese or sour cream. Naked taco salad no cheese or sour cream. There are a lot of little local restaurants and you can get wraps, salads, soup and sandwiches.

Chipotle = love I do not consider it an unhealthy choice, well, unless i have them load up my bowl with rice, cheese and sour cream.

As far as fast food goes, Burger King veggie burger, no mayo, side salad and water

    Hardees Turkey burger
  • Cracker Barrel- Grilled Chicken Tenderloins. They are very tasty and only 170 cals!

Rye or wholemeal bread roll with chicken or roast beef, chilli sauce and salad - from a sandwich bar
Dahl and rice with raita - from a food court
Sushi roll with chicken and cucumber and pickled ginger - from Japanese takeaway
Cold rolls with prawns/chicken and that delicious sweet chilli dipping sauce - from the market
Steak sandwich, toss half the bread if it's huge, skip the chips/fries - from a cafe
Peri peri wrap - from red rooster.
Grilled fish and steamed veggies, skip the chips - from the pub.

Alternatively I just eat whatever I fancy and make the rest of the day balance around it, or just write it off as an "over-cals" day.
It is easier to do now I'm maintaining though.

Subway ... Veggie Delight on Wheat .. No cheese or condiments. Wait ... did you say unhealthy ????? Not all fast food has to be unhealthy. :)
  • I usually hit up subway and get a 6 inch ham and turkey on 9 grain wheat. 330 cals with provolone and mustard.
On my previous diet I would go to taco bell and get a regular burrito minus cheese, but I'm unsure about how many calories that is of hand, I'm sure it's around 300 or less.
Cracker barrel has really good grilled chicken tenders, I get that with green beans, apple sauce, and turnip greens, I eat half and take the rest home for lunch the next day. Half is around the 220 calorie range.
McAlisters has 2 for 500 cal meals, you can get a 1/2 sandwich and a cup of soup or salad or 1/2 baked potato. it's usually around 480-520 cal depending on what you get. You do pretty much the same thing at Jason's Deli if you plan ahead using their website.

Tim Horton's chili is 300 cals. It comes with a bun, which I use 1/4 of to dip in the chili. Not a terrible meal at all.

If I forget lunch, my only option is Harveys or Tim's.

Tim's = chili, but I just can't resist the whole bun, the best I can do is get wheat. (300 w/o bun.)

Harvey's = veggie burger (they make the BEST fastfood veggie burgers) loaded with veggies. And a side salad. (370 cals with cheese!)

Taco bell will actually replace their gross meat product with beans. Makes the stuff way healthier.

Not eating is also a choice.

That being said: Chipotle double-chicken bol. Lettuce, hot salsa, tomato, rice, black beans, little cheese, and lettuce. Very solid macros.

For where I live, my only choice would be a Subway 6-inch veggie on white. Yay small-town vegans!

If it's where I'm moving to eventually, oh man, the choices are nearly endless. Which Wich, Panera, Souper Salad, zPizza, Qdoba, Chipotle... mmm.

Wendy's Baja Salad (medium) without the tortilla strips and packaged salad dressing. The salad has pico de gallo and guacamole plus Wendy's chili. Very nutritious and hardy. It's what I eat when on a road trip.
