So i was browsing on FB & randomly looking up people from my past anyone else ever do that? Anyways I looked up one of my best friends from years ago, & it kinda got to me..we both was chubby girls growing up & shes so pretty now and skinny and im still a blob. lol...I guess im a little envious, it also made me sad that I no longer know this girl anymore, havent spoken/seen her in yearssss. Its crazy how close you can be to someone & then it fades away. We had no bad fight we just faded apart...not sure why...Im also shocked how different we are now...im a full blown gator & hog huntin, whiskey drinkin country girl and shes emo! lol I did not see that coming..well she looks it at least. Any ways this is a pointless rant, i guess im just wishing i could have got this weight off of me like she has done :/ I feel like a failure

also question...do yall think i should contact her and say hi!? honestly from her page it looks like we have nothing in common anymore lol but we used to be such best friends for like 5 years....

hey there, lucky for me i dont have facebook. but i do see people that i used to know and think the exact same thing. i think you should absolutely try to get in touch with her. if you didnt have any fight, and there is no actual reasoning for you separating, chances are, shes probably thinking the same thing as you. give it a go! whats the worst that could happen?! also, if you keep commited to this, you will begin to feel better about yourself. just feel good about who you are now and look at it as a chance to improve! you can do it!

I would say something! Who knows maybe shes been thinking about you too and you guys are just lurking on each others FB pages wondering whether or not to say hey!

    This!
  • i'm glad i don't have a facebook! lol but if you really want to know how she's doing then just friend her or whatever or message her saying something like "hey! been a long time...want to catch up on here?" see where it leads to and you can at least say you tried. :flowerforyou:

also, my best friend since kinder has always been thin and tall. i'm the chubby short friend. i used to let it get to me but now i realize my boobs will always be bigger than hers  haha. so while i'm jealous of her good thin genes she's jealous of my boobs but it's all just poking fun. find something that's better about you and once you reach your goal weight you (hopefully) will have all the confidence you could ever want in your body! take care!

    sexygenius - haha ty!

..i guess i don't have anything to lose i just don't know how to approach her i guess...& it would kinda suck and be awkward if we had NOTHING in common, which looks like it....i would like to know how she lost her weight though! lol

I totally know what you mean... a lot of my friends my age already married, and I'm still... struggling with work and school. Plus, all of them look hot except me... So... I "unsubscribed" them :P

FB is such a low stakes way to say hi. I've found tons of people from high school, friended them...did the, "oh wow! Its been a long time!" And then...we never say anything again. I start blocking their daily "jesus is the light of my life" status updates, and, one might assume, they start blocking my "see how the right wing is screwing us over" status updates...and we go back to being invisible to one another. Even though we're still, technically, FB friends. So, you know, in another few years we can both go "oh wow! Its been a long time!"

So, in a nutshell...it really won't make much of a difference at all. Really. If you're at all interested, just do it. You have nothing to lose. Probably nothing to gain either, mind you...but nothing to lose!
