I have dropped some of the weight that i have intended, but have had several days where I have not realized th amount of salt that I had been taking in (including today). Is there any way to counteract the excess salt so I can lose weight or am I doomed to have a gain when i step on the scales the next time?

I don't know that there's a way to "counteract" the high sodium intake. You could try drinking more water to flush your system. Do you always have this high of a sodium level, or is it just something you had once or twice? I know that I had a high high (over 4000 mg) day last week, but normally I'm between 1500 and 2000.

Watch the amount of processed foods that you eat, because those are usually what give me the big whammy days.

:explode: I HAVE had several days in the last 2 weeks that have had 3500-4000 mg, including today, mainly due to eating things that were I thought were healthy but had too much sodium.
For example, I would eat something that is low in calories, fat and sugar, but it would have a huge sodium count. I can only fix my meals (cook, prepare), so most of what I eat is salads from restaurants or something quick like Campbell's soup at hands :drinker: (which I found out AFTER buying a month's worth) have 700-900 mg of sodium per cup.
I generally do not like things that have a lot of salt in them, so I cannot understand why I am eating things that are prepared with a lot of sodium. can someone help me with this?? I hardly ever even cook with salt which drives my wife cracee, as she immediately grabs the salt shaker after taking one bite of anything that I do cook. :explode:
