Peaking too early

I do alot of time trialing and am just starting to build up for the season I have only been back training this year for 3/4 weeks and all my number on my heart rate suggest that I am about to come in to form. This is not a problem but I am worried that if I keep going at this rate that I am going to burn out before the season has started, thus defeating the object. So are there any PT out there with any advice on if I should back off for week or 2 and then start again.
