Should I take a "rest day" from cheerleading?

At the moment I'm training for a cheerleading competition, pretty much every day. I'm a 'back spot', which means that when we're lifting the flyers, I'm at the back and driving their weight upwards.
The girls that we lift are about 100-130lbs, and it's HARD WORK but I'm not sure whether it counts as something that deserves rest days? I've definitely built a lot of muscle doing it!
Anyway, your thoughts would be much appreciated
