First up, where did you get 1200 calories from? Go back and change your MFP goal to lose 1lb a week and I bet it gives you far more calories than that, plus it's sustainable, you'll get the full range of nutrition you need and won't feel starved!

MFP is designed so you eat your exercise calories and still have a calorific deficit to lose weight, plus doing so will fuel future work outs so you can work harder and for longer. Why make yourself feel weak?

MFP is sharply divided between the eats and the eat-nots, but most of my long-term successful friends here eat all or at least some of their exercise calories. I eat most, but not all, allowing for a margin of error. On a long run day this can be an extra 700 calories plus extra! Bear in mind that ALL calorie calculation methods from MFP to using a heart-rate monitor are at best an estimate.
