Is there a huge difference between the 2?

Does it matter whether i buy the male or female version (I'm female)?

i read some reviews and some people said the male version can be programmed to female. I don't really care about the colors...i just see a lot more of the male version available than the female.

I don't know if the chest strap might be larger for the men (or the watch itself). Regardless of the watch, you program it based on your height, weight, age.


You can get a FT4 off AMazon for less than $60 (women's version). I love mine.

No it doesn't matter.. Each can be programmed and each come with the same size strap(M-XXL).

I had a female FT7(black and gold) and a Female FT60(Pink) I loved both!

Yup. When you first do the set up it will ask you age, weight, height and gender.. so you can either put male or female.

The only real difference besides the colors is the size of the watches... the males are a bit bigger if I'm not mistaken.

Like I have an FT60 female watch which is rounded, while my trainers FT60 male watch is square.. so it depends on personal preference really.

I just bought a Polar FT4. I WANTED the Polar FT7. But I found that added features were not worth the extra money. The only real added feature that interested me was the fact you could download all your info right to the Polar Web Site to track your progress. I can do that here on MFP. I LOVE my FT4!!

Not a Polar.. All Polar's come with a chest strap.

They are inaccurate if they don't have a chest strap... So I strongly suggest you re-think the no chest strap stance.
