Is Weight Watchers worth it for 15lbs?

I'm thinking of joining WW. But not sure if just wanting to lose 15lbs is worth it. I mean it's ALOT of weight, but they would show me the same thing I do now - count calories and exercise. I think I want to join just so I know that someone is holding me accountable for my choices, etc.

Anyone else join it and like/dislike it??

    Hi

I've never done WW but everyone I know who's tried it has been happy and lost weight
Instead of points, I could cals here and weigh in weekly
How long have you been at MFP?
I would give it a try on your own, and if that doesn't work...some people need the accountability of going to a group and being weighed in

    Good luck, kim

i joined about 4 months ago, just to be accountable for my weight loss

it has worked for me to keep me motivated, as before christmas i was feeling sorry for myself and had no motivation at all

its a personal choice, i use MFP every day to log my calories and get support

but i needed a little extra push, hope this helps! :flowerforyou:

I loved WW and did it for 20 LBS. I use this sight now tho and just calculate everything into points on my own.

The only thing I miss is the accountability of weighing in every week and keeping track of the results all the time. I joined a thread on here in order to get some of that accountability back.

I joined WW about 6 weeks ago. I talked to the group leader before I started and let her know that I was already counting calories, keeping track of sodium, etc., and really didn't want to count points. That was absolutely fine! I have the option of going to a meeting at work every Tuesday (my job pays for half) or attending a meeting at an outside site. And, once you pay... you can attend as many meetings per week as you'd like! Even though it's the same topic being discussed at each, if you're having an off week, being around all those people on the same journey is very inspiring!

For the past three weeks, I've been going to a 7 a.m. meeting on Saturdays. It gets me up, out of bed, weighed in at the best time to weigh, I have a protein bar/meal replacement bar, a bottle of water, and then I head to the gym! It's working great!

Just a little note, though. When you go, you are going to see people that are very much overweight and you are going to see people who look like they do not belong there. Most of the people who do not look like they belong have already lost their weight and continue going to meetings. It is a great educational program, it is YOU time and I strongly recommend it.
