30 Day Shred and the gym? counter productive?

Just wondering if anyone who did 30 day shred also worked out in the gym? I do 30 day shred and I also go to the gym to do the elliptical and the treadmill.
Since everyone said they lost mostly inches on 30 day shred it seems it builds more muscle. So am I confusing my body my doing that and cardio on other equipment? I know her workout includes cardio but it seems like everyone lost inches not weight.

Just curious please feel free to add your thoughts.
