I am going on a date tonight to a pizza pasta calzone type place. I got a copy of their menu, alas, no nutrition facts. So i picked a couple things that looked semi harmless/okay...what do yall think?
I am staying away (obviously) from the pizza and pasta, so i thought i would go with some kind of chicken. But whats the difference(healthy wise) between a calzone, gyro, pita, hoagie, sandwich, sub AHHH so confused. :grumble:  thanks for the input

Garlic Chicken Calzone, wheat dough
Chicken • Peppers • Onions • Garlic • Mushrooms • Mozzarella • Ricotta Served with shallot cream sauce

Greek Chicken Gyro
Grilled Chicken • Lettuce • Tomatoes • Onions • Red Peppers • Black Olives • Feta • Tzatziki Sauce

Chicken Caesar Pita
Grilled Chicken • Romaine Lettuce • Tomatoes • Parmesan • Caesar Dressing

Chicken Hoagie
Grilled Chicken • Lettuce • Tomatoes • Onions • Cheddar

I'd say the hoagie is the safest--there's no sauce on it. The cheese isn't the greatest, but it's not the worst. I'd bet you could find something close enough in the food section, if you look.

    Good luck!
  • I'd go with the caesar pita because you could get the dressing on the side and have a little if you wish, as long as you don't eat all of the dressing then you're good! Thats how I do that. As long as I get whatever I know is fattening on the side then I'm good. :drinker:

I also think the hoagie sounds...healthiest, but do you want to down a hoagie in front of your date?
Also I agree with another person that you could get the caesar dressing on the side, but do you want this to be a typical...salad date.
    So many choices,
    I like the Gyros!!

I would go for the garlic chicken calzone, and ask for no cheese or sauce. The wheat bread = good carbs as long as its whole wheat. Good luck and enjoy your date!
