I often wonder if I will EVER love or even like my legs. I think my legs are one of my biggest insecurities. I don't know how to even get nice ones! haha I would LOVE to have sexy shapely muscular legs. Ya know?
Anyway, have any of you felt like this before and now LOVE your legs? If so, can I see them (before and after). How did you get 'em?

I always wished I had "chicken legs" even if it meant I had a bigger tummy, but that just isn't the way I'm built - I am a classic hourglass with long, sturdy German legs (or maybe Viking or lumberjack legs).
I used to hate them. Now, I love them. Even though they are not at all fat anymore, they are still big and always will be, so they are not legs that look amazing in shorts (although they look awesome in dresses/skirts with a pair of sky-high heels) but they are strong, muscular, and powerful. What's not to love about that?0 -

YOU ROCK!!!! I have the same shape;mine's due to my Cherokee bloodline though. Thick, hourglass, whatever. Huge calves, thighs, and bum. My grandpa used to tell me when I was a kid (when I complained about my huge legs) that "no real man wants a woman walking around on sticks! Chicken legs don't get the work done that muscles can!" (My parents both come from agricultural families)
I hope to love mine someday. They are still flabby and I hope I can feel the same way about mine as they tone up. You are now my hero!0 -
See I have big legs too. I'm a pear borderline hourglass when I'm thinner. haha
Anyway, I like my big bottom and I don't mind that my legs are thick, but I just wish they wer solid muscle instead of solid chunkachunk. lol0 -

That's the thing...I don't really know what's best to do. Run? Bike? Squats? Lunges? I don't know what's best. I would love to have sexy legs.0 -
Ojell-I love my big butt too!
I hope it's possible to reduce my legs while keeping my butt? I guess we're born with what we have. Just have to ROCK it like Serena! SHe's totally toned but still thick.

Most cardio incorporates legs (walking/jogging and Zumba were my main forms of cardio as I shed the weight) but to really focus on strengthening those muscles, you have to add strength training - squats and lunges are fantastic. If you have access to a gym, use the equipment there.
Regardless, I hate to tell you that you can't "spot reduce" or "spot tone" - your body will lose where it wants to lose, so if the first place you gained weight was on your legs, don't be surprised if it's the last place to go away, no matter how hard you try.
The important thing is to work on getting fit and healthy all over because, no matter what the scale says or what your size ends up, if you are healthy, that's all that matters. Fit and healthy is beautiful regardless of the measurements.0 -
Interesting topic. Same issue here! I hated most of my adult life my legs.... but now.. I love my butt and want it "looking up" and being "round" and staying big!
If you can understand what I want to say!!!!
I found out that running is a good way to get my belly thinner and have a strong butt. Almost everytime after I run a 5k on the traidmill I feel sore at the butt... and that's why I LOVE RUNNING!
Love to hear your ideas too, about exercises for a more rounded butt0 -
We need to see pictures. Words and words and words.
C'mon ladies. Have mercy. Hehe.0 -
Not yet...working on it though!
Its amazing what lunges and jumping squats can do though...you can feel the burn! Haha

I work my legs harder than any other part of my body, because I am SO tired of having to wear pants in the dead heat of summer. I can't wait to love them!!0
