The first ever spinning class i did i thought i was going to die!!!
My legs were fine but i was totally out of breath, had chest pains and thought i was going to vomit!
I think it was because it wasn't an exercise i was used to and it is bloody hard work!!
Drinks lots of water and maybe have something to eat (fruit or yogurt or something)0 -
maybe drink some juice?0

That still happens to me when I push it really hard. But usually it happens when I did not eat enough prior to the class. Try to eat something, you should feel better.0

Kudos for trying a new class! However, it's important to do so at your own pace. Depending on the length of the class, you might need electrolytes or other nutrition to recover.0

The same thing happened to me earlier this week. For the next class I had a snack (banana) about a half hour before class and I brought 2 bottles of water with me (I usually only drink one). It's important to stay hydrated and go at a pace comfortable for you.0

Your blood sugar got too low.0

That's awesome you started spinning!! Yes I just started about a month ago and the first class I thought I needed to call 911, both during and after.
It is normal for your heart to have to adjust to that extreme but you will get used to it. Just make sure you are getting electrolytes and water right afterwards. I like those Vitamin Water Revive 20 oz bottles (125 calories) on the way home with a bottle of water. Then I usually have dinner when I get home. Recovery is key but hopefully like me you will want to do it again soon!!0 -
In the middle of spin class once I stopped, went to the bathroom, threw up, then got back on the bike and finished. For me I just pushed myself too hard, maybe you also just pushed a little to much. It will get easier, but definitely don't let it deter you from going. Spin is so much fun!!0

sounds like you need a good fitness drink to keep up with your sodium/potassium levels. also, did you eat prior to going? spinning takes a lot of work, so make sure you eat something before you go! like someone else said, your blood sugar probably dropped0

You have to have something on your stomach before you take that class. Please eat something light next time!0

That is a good point about eating before. I like to make a smoothie before and drink it in the car on the way to spinning:
1 cup frozen mixed berries, 1 1/4 cup of vanilla soy milk, 1 banana, put in the blender. Great fuel for the ride (363 calories and 73 g of carbs).0 -
I had a banana before the class and felt fine, but since I got home I had some fruit juice and something to eat and feel a lot better.
My thighs still ache and my bum really hurts (seat bones) LOL
I will try it once more before I sack it off completley - can't say I enjoyed it but it must get brilliant results being such hard work!0 -
I have to drink water the entire time. Sometimes I'll drink up to 32 ounces during a class.0
