I have spent most of my life eating a regular diet with unlimited amounts of crap as part of my life style, but now I am trying to reduce the amount of calories in my diet so I can have a healthier life style.

LIfestyle. I want to live a healthier life, even if the scale doesn't move. So I don't have "cheat days" I have times that I don't make the best choice I could have.

Lifestyle, because the way I eat now is what I can see myself doing for the rest of my life. To me a diet is something that you quit after awhile and doesn't work in the long run.

Lifestyle!!! :) I hate how obsessed I can be sometimes about calorie counting, having to miss workouts, my weight, etc. But, I'd much rather be obsessive than not care. I just hope to be at the point one day where I don't have to constantly log everything and count every single thing. Until then, I'm here! I don't believe in diets. I have a treat everyday, enjoy my favs every so often, and slip up sometimes, yet I've been successful. I enjoy running and eating healthy now, and plan to the rest of my life. :)

Both, I'm changing my lifestyle: exercising more, eating better. But I still see myself as 'on a diet' because I do feel like I'm depriving myself of things I like. I'm looking forward to maintenance, keeping the healthy habits I've been building but being able to indulge a wee bit more :)

Lifestyle change. The main reason I'm making these healthy changes is so that I can be a good example for my kids. So that I can teach them what I was never taught. So that hopefully they won't struggle with their weight the way I have.

Lifestyle. Diets in the passed would mean I would lose the weight and then revert back to my old eating habits. Lifestyle means I've adopted a new way of eating that once I meet my goal I will be able to maintain that weight by continuing to eat the foods I am eating now with a cap on calories.

sigh....we all have a diet...even folks who aren't *dieting*. A diet is what you eat and drink. Your diet may be 5,000 calories a day and causing you to gain weight...but its still your diet.

good grief, folks, stop ripping people's heads' off for saying what's in their diet. Its easier than saying "this is what I eat and drink".

Agree, I've never really been a dieter before so diet has no negative connotations for me

I think it starts out as a diet but turns into a lifestyle when you realize how much better you look AND feel.
