Reward question for anyone who can help

How does one reward one's self for doing well when one doesn't have the means (i.e. the money) to get said reward?

I can think of a hundred rewards that I can get myself, but I haven't yet found a job and without a job, no money, and without money, no means to purchase rewards.

How about letting yourself off the hook for something that hate to do - or maybe carve out some time to do something just for you that you normally don't do because you're too busy with other stuff or feel guilty about doing - sitting quietly, taking a nap, reading a book, watching a trashy TV show. Those are my ideas - but whatever could make you happy and honor your achievement.

I think looking in the mirror and liking what you see is a great (non-monetary) reward. I also think feeling and looking healthy is a great reward!
  • I have longer hair right now, and I hate my hair long! I am growing my hair out until I have reached my goal and then I am getting it cut again. That is my reward and it's working! :)

I reward myself with amazing food that is also good for me... I don't eat things I don't like... that is important...

I love to go shopping at Goodwill when I fit into a new size. Most recently, I bought 3 pair of jeans for 6 dollars. One of them still had tags and I felt great being able to zip them up comfortably. It was definitely a reward and super cheap!

`me` time. Bubble bath, stick the headphones on and chill, go for a walk somewhere nice and different, have a picnic, have the girls round... One brings starter, you do mains, one does dessert, all bring wine. X

My reward is fitting into old cloths I haven't worn in a while. That's a big boost for me.

I'm a big fan of rewarding myself with some quiet time to read a good book and a cup of hot tea (maybe hot cocoa if it's a bigger reward). Now yes, I recognize I'm rewarding with a food item but tea is good for you plus there's no calories if you leave out the sugar and let's face it there's just something about chocolate for us women.

As a working (full-time) single mom of two kids (I have full custody until my ex moves back into the same state) I don't get much me time so even an hour or two is just awesome.

I'm looking forward to going 'shopping' in the cupboard where I stored all the clothes that don't fit me any more. It won't cost me a penny.

Also, going out to see friends feeling a bit more confident would be nice. That would feel like a reward.

    Good luck to you.
