How to firm up/build muscle?

I am at my goal weight and really now want to firm up (especially my thighs and stomach).
I have been doing DVD's w/ weights (Jillian) and I run 3x a week training for my second half marathon. So is this enough to firm up or would I have better success with weights at a gym?
I do not belong to a gym and prefer not to have to go and pay every month BUT if it will get me more firm then doing dvds by memorial day I may consider it

Strength training with weights will help tighten and tone the muscles - making you more toned and defined.
For me, I bought a set of adjustable dumbells to use in my apartment so I don't have to go to a gym. With the adjustable dumbells - I can add weight as I increase my strength and I found various moves to tone every aspect of my body from arms, to legs, and obviously my core.
To maintain and promote more lean muscle to achieve a firm look, I eat more protein and have a protein shake containing whey within 30 mins of finishing my workout.
Hope this helps0 -
