    most people say 10 and i have lost a pants size (in the waist) with 10

    it depends on how big you are (smaller you are tends to be the less weight you need to lose to drop a size) and on where you lose it from (ex-losing in your legs doesn't help with your waist measurement).
    it took me about 20ish lbs to drop my first size, but more recently I dropped a size with only about 8 lbs.

    I think i read somewhere that you lose a dress size when you drop 10% of your body weight.
