For those of you who use HRM for your workouts, how often are you retesting you resting heart rate? I cannot find any info on this and know that it is going to change over time depending on how good of shape your in. I don't want my calories burned to be an over estimate because I am not changing the settings regulalry enough. Was thinking every 2 weeks?
Also, if anyone knows of any good links that show where your heart rate should be during various types of exercise for your age/weight/etc. that would be helpful. I have a tendency to push to hard and my HR is spiking above 165, which I am trying to pay more attention too. It is getting better now that I have been working out for a month, but I still push too hard some days.

To calculate exercise heartrate zones see http://www.runnersweb.com/running/hr_calculator_new.html.
I think that checking your resting heartrate a couple of times a week is good because it will go down by training but will be elevated if you are sick or stressed. By checking it more often you can eliminate the outliers on bad days.0
