With all this said, does anybody want to weigh in on the CR society (Calorie Restriction) who believe that lowering their calorie intake will thus lower their metabolism thus enabling them to live longer. This subject was on Oprah this week, presented by Dr. Oz.
In a way, it makes sense. Reduced caloric restriction = reduced cell activity = reduced # of shortened telomeres (it looks like this causes aging). I really can't say much against it, unless the caloric restriction was so drastic that it caused health problems. But to my knowledge they just restrict their calories slightly. And we don't quite know why cells behave the way they do under certain circumstances, so it would be impossible to prove any of it. I think it's interesting though.0 -
I know but there are people that read your posts (and her posts and sometimes even my posts) and walk away with a better understanding and go on to lose weight in a healthy way so your point is being taken in. by some anyway.
