HRM - too many choices and no idea!!

Can anyone recommend a good HRM??

I go to the gym 3 times a week, go on the wii every now and again and do general exercise once in a while and want to know the best HRM to get. xx

    You should get one with a chest strap - they are the most accurate. No HRM is 100% accurate, for example when doing resistance/weight training then it can't calculate calories burnt through strengthening muscles as it goes off heart rate, but for all cardio stuff it's fantastic!!

    I got an entry level Polar HRM (Polar FT4). It has a wrist strap and even works for swimming (as long as you don't push the buttons underwater and break the seal). It records the last 4 sessions, and you can download to your PC if you buy an extra link thing but I don't have one of those, as the record for me is kept here on MFP.

    I think it was about £45ish on Amazon, it's one of the best things I bought as gives a more accurate idea of the calories burnt which felt like a big gap to me as I was calculating everything going in but guessing calories going out.

    I've posted numerous topics on this, and i'm interested in either the Ft4 or FT7..but then i read yesterday that neither are accurate because they don't monitor the VO2MAX (Still dont understand what that is) and that is supposedly the only way to get an accurate measurement of calories burned. So lost here
