“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...”

Sorry if it offends you but if it offends you please don't open the thread. You can tell by the title that it is religious. I find it very helpful to see what others use to get them through this difficult process of losing weight. There have been threads that I have not opened for that very reason.0
-
OP, is there any way to change the title so it says "Bible verse" instead of just "verse" for those who may be misunderstanding how you used the term?0

Titles cannot be edited, unfortunately.0 -

Maybe we could start anew thread and name it more specifically, and then ignore this one and let it drop off the page?0 -

Honestly I was being a little sarcastic in a super-positive way.0 -
Wow! Just think if we took all this energy that we are using to disagree and use it for what this site is all about...losing weight!
Peace out!0 -
Anyone else have a favorite Bible Verse0

I don't judge people for what they believe. I have a relationship with god, not a religion persay... So I'm not going to waste time on bashing other religions I just thought some uplifting would be a good idea. Verses always motivate me0

I'm not a Christian, but I do enjoy religious history and grew up with a strict Christian upbringing.
I always found Romans 8:24 to be quite nice:
For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?
The Psalms are lovely too.
Some very nice poetry in the bible.0 -
GEEEEEEZE.......
People, if you don't like Bible verses, don't comment & ignore this thread.
Amen!0 -

LOVE Psalm 23...for some reason it brings me great comfort:
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

There is always something very powerful about a child reciting scriptures0
