How reliable is your balance board?

i everyone! I just got my Wii working again, (after what was probably the result of a power failure that fried it somehow) and I weighed myself at 8:00 pm after completing my food diary. It put me at 160, which is what my bathroom scale (which I'm sure has been on the fritz for a while) said I was this morning. I checked my weight on the scale after using the balance board, and it put me at 163.

Now, it makes sense to have gained 3lbs in a day, due to those tiny changes in my body. My question is... do I trust the Wii and accept this happy surprise, or go with the higher number on the digital bathroom scale?

What do you guys believe more?

  • My board told me my dog was obese and he is 6.5 lbs .. so it was doomed from the time I took it out of the box! Ummm buy a new scale and go with the number you like the best out of all three !

I don't think it matters which one you use. I use my bathroom scale rather than the balance board. Whichever one you use for 'official' weigh ins, make sure to just use that particular one for the weigh ins that you record, so that you don't have such large fluctuations...

Yeah, I always used my Wii board, then it stopped working On Dec. 29th, and I stopped weighing myself and got a rather nasty shock after new year's. Maybe I should go back to using the wii fit... I can compare it to another scale (like at my doctor's) and use whichever one is most accurate to that.
  • Pick one and use it for your official weigh-ins. Even if the actual weight isn't accurate, it should still give you an accurate reading of the difference from your previous weigh-in.

I always questioned the accuracy of the balance board. So, I weighed myself on mine, then went to MIL's straight after to weigh myself on hers, went straight to a friends to do the same and then went to a pharmacy to use one of their big, posh, electric scales that tell you loads of information with a long receipt type thing and they all said the same and was all done within one hour.

So, I trust mine. Lol. It's usually a few pounds higher when I go to the doctors and get weighed there but that's because I'm wearing clothes. Lol.
