Has anyone participated in a Warrior Dash event? They are having one nearby this summer and it looks like a blast. I'm probably going to sign up. Any suggestions on how to train for it or simply dive in?

I did the Central Florida one last Sunday. It was my first time for that sort of thing. It was fun. Didn't do any specific training but started running again a month before since had been doing P90X for my exercise. Not sure if there is any specific training I can think of for going knee deep in mud for a 100 yards. That was tough. Also, my course had quite a bit of running in sand. Really felt it in my quads and glutes the next day. I'd say if you do some regular strength training mixed in with cardio (like in a program like P90X), that should be fine. And if you live near a beach, do some running in the sand.

I am doing one in April. I'm going to do cardio work (running and elliptical until I'm about six weeks out, then start focusing on upper body strength).
