1) Measuring my waist means measure:

2) When trying on bottoms to pick a size I go by:
a) the smallest part of my waist, which is probably somewhere above my belly button.
b) the part that goes across my belly button (is that actually the smallest part of anyones waist?)
c) where my waist band is and I know that because I only buy pants and underwear with a certain inseam that are always across the same part of my waist
e) around my butt because that needs to fit in most bottoms first and it's really annoying because then I need a belt because there's a gaping hole on the back of my pants showing my butt crack so I try to wear sexy underwear just in case.
d) some ratio between my hips and belly button and I know what the ratio is because I've done the math
e) a mathematical formula based on the brand style and material of the pants, the answer is always 42 (nerd joke).
