I started using my HRM and for the first few days I was burning really good calories according to it but for the last two days I am working really hard and even increased my cardio to 40min on the elliptical and then run 1/2 mile on the track and it is less then before. Is there a reason for this?

I'm no expert... but I'm pretty sure that the higher your heart rate, the more calories you burn. So, if your body is adjusting to the exercises you are doing, eventually it will take more effort on your part to increase your heart rate and you will burn less calories. Your body is a smart machine and will adjust accordingly.0
