This question comes from a brand new member to myfitnesspal. Anyone have any advice on late night snacking? I don't have time during the day to sit down and have a moment to myself, so I tend to do that late in the evening, when the house is quiet. The only problem is, the minute I sit down to watch a much deserved tv program, the snacking begins. I'l love to hear some feedback...

This can be a really hard habit to break. Try doing something else with your hands while you watch TV- knit, post on mfp:bigsmile: , etc. You could try to set a stop point for your eating, say 8pm. Otherwise, just change to healthy snacks- carrots with low-fat dip is my favorite when I absolutely must nosh!

Good luck! This does take will power, but take baby steps if it is easier.:flowerforyou:

What are you snacking on? I do that same thing, but I try to eat things like air popped popcorn or sliced apples, something along that line. For me, it's a really hard habit to break...lol.

There is a great challenge some people here do on a monthly basis. Late night is very hard for a lot of us......

Here is the "Late-Night-no-snacking-challenge" thread for this month.

(Lots of good stuff on this thread) Good luck! :flowerforyou:

Try hot tea instead of food.

Sugar free jello is your friend....when you first start on your weight loss journey food is consuming your thoughts and in your head constantly over time this will fade and so will late night cravings...I used to keep Jello by the tons and eat as much as I wanted when I was starved at night or snacking...also cucumbers......now I dont find myself eating anything after 6pm.
