  • Hi, try eating a substantial breakfast with porridge and banana. 2 egg whites for a snack mid morning and then ensure you have something wholesome for lunch. I usually have rye bread (Lidls is cheapest) with a slice of ham, and find that I don't crave sweet things anymore. I also make sure that I have a whole glass of warm milk in the evening after my dinner, and this makes me comfortably full. Remember why you are doing this. You are half way there... You owe it to yourself not to throw in the towel now. Remember how good you felt when you lost your first 5lbs :) Go for it girl. (Boiled eggs minus the yolks - that is, not raw :) )
  • Hang in there girl, you got this!! Clean out your cabinets and throw away all temptation OR... just give it all to someone to hold for you. When a strong craving hits eat a small bite and chew slowly and go clean out a closet or take a walk or a bike ride as your chewing on it.
  • You can do this!! I have found that gum helps with my cravings, I mean really I just want something sweet, so why not gum, after a few minutes of chewing I often forget the cravings. It's ok to give in some days, so that we do not just break over and give up. Remember the goal you set yourself and now think your HALF WAY THERE!! Take it from me, you do not want to start over again in a few months after you realize you have jumped off the wagon. Hang in there take it day by day, dont look at the big picture often times that become overwhelming!! Best of luck, YOU CAN DO THIS!!! Think about this time next year will you be glad you ate healthy and exercised and be at your goal weight or will you regret eating sweets and be at your starting weight, trying to lose it all over again.

You really didn't LOSE that weight........you always know where to find it, in the refrigerator. It is your choice to keep it "lost" or find it and destroy all your efforts. Cravings are natural. Have a "bite" of something sweet or whatever you crave. Brush your teeth, Drink a huge glass of water and LEAVE your house for an hour. I bet that craving will get "lost" too!! You can get past it. DO IT!!!

Give in to the craving just be accountable for the calories in it. When I want some chocolate I take a few pieces of chocolate chips from the fridge or a pudding cup. It's not the Snickers bar I REALLY want but it takes care of the craving and only costs me 10 calories or less.

Would eating a piece of fruit help your sugar craving? When mine gets really bad I have a huge mug of low cal hot chocolate
You know you can be strong because you've already started your journey, and you've held yourself accountable by posting this. You can do it
  • You could be setting yourself for cravings without realizing it. I skimmed over your journal. Most days you're starting your day off with sugary cereals (corn pops), luna bars and thinsation bars. Then you're avoiding sugar until you snack on it once again later. That messes with your insulin levels and explains the intense cravings. Don't give sugar up, spread it throughout the day and make sure your first meal of the day isn't sugar loaded and you'll be less likely to want it later. Low glycemic breakfasts are best (oats, high fiber fruits and a little sweetness from honey is just fine).

    You can do this (:

Make sure you avoid artificial sweetners. They cause you to crave sweets. I would suggest fruit or dark chocolate when you think you just have to have something. A graham cracker with a little peanut butter will usually do it for me, if I don't want fruit. Good luck!
