Footbag/Hackysack

THIS is a workout.

When I was in high school, I used to be big into footbag. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but I was pretty freakin' amazing. But of course, we all grow up eventually.

Well I still have some of my footbags so I thought I'd give it a try and see if I've still got it. Of course, not quite as good as I was back then, but still have a lot of decent moves.

Within 2 minutes I was huffing and puffing, heart just beating out of my chest. Whoa. So yeah, if anyone is looking for an unconventional, fun workout - pick up a footbag and learn some of the tricks that have you jumping in the air with it. On top of increasing your heart rate, you will also improve your balance, and it's very good for strength training as well because a lot of the moves have you doing certain kind of squats in order to balance the footbag.

    I remember my brother and his buds playing this in high school (they were cross country runners). It sure looked like a great workout then... though they made it look effortless.
