Low carb diet HELP!!

Have anyone ever tried the low carb diet before? Many of my family memeber have told me about the low carb diet. It is suppose to help you lose at least 15 pounds in the first couple of weeks. I really wanna try this diet but I love breads and rice etc. I find it hard to find something to eat to substiute my carbs. Because I ever thing I eaat involve breads etc. If anyone have tried it can you tell me some alternatives that I can eat with my meals instead of things with high carbs..

    I am currenlty using a low carb diet. The Primal Blueprint is what I am using. It's more on trying to follow how caveman (oogh, oogh) used to eat. I am just about to finish the book, but there is great website you can check out too. www.marksdailyapple.com that can give you some more information. Good luck! I understand your pain, I love pasta, but I haven't even missed it since trying this diet.
  • Hi, I'm new here. I've been weening myself off the breads and pastas for a while and just completed my first week without (lost 3 pounds, too!). I crave pasta like nothing else, but you can get through it. For sandwiches I like using big lettuce leaves and wrapping stuff up like a little lettuce burrito, it's very yummy. And I've also tried making "cauliflower and cheese" as a replacement for mac and cheese with great success. Roasted cauliflower is the yummiest thing in the world. Substitutions are out there, and life after carbs isn't so bad.

    I'm doing the 17 day diet. The first cycle is very restricted on carbs, and as someone who used to have carbs all day...bagel for breakfast, hero for lunch, pizza or pasta for dinner...I was not feeling deprived or hungry at all. The first 2 days I did have headache and was testy due to the carb and sugar withdrawls, but now i dont crave it at all!! The 2nd and 3rd cycles reintroduce carbs, and when you're at your goal, the 4th cycle is maintenance aka a healthy lifestyle. I'm now suffering from the stomach virus for the past 3 days that I got from work, so i havent been following any diet other than the i-hope-to-keep-liquid-down-because-im-so-thirsty diet. :( The first week I lost 5.8 pounds. I was supposed to weigh in today but...didnt. I recommend getting the book and looking into it. I got the book for like 5 bucks on amazon. It really teaches you a LIFESTYLE change instead of a diet. If you diet and go back to unhealthy habits, you will gain the weight back.
