I've been doing MFP for a while, but I'm getting into a bit of a rut, food-wise. I'm looking for people who cook real food (no processed food) for themselves/families every day, and are still successfully losing weight. If your daily diet includes things like whole eggs, yogurt, butter/olive oil, bread, lots of veggies, and the occasional fancy cheese, we should be friends!
I LOVE to cook, and eating delicious homemade food is a real source of pleasure for me. My favorite breakfast during the week is a poached egg with one piece of buttered whole wheat toast, and a cup of coffee. At work, I'm blessed with a fantastic cafeteria where I can get roast chicken, bountiful salads, tofu/veggie curries, sushi, etc. My main meal of the day is usually at work. In the evenings, dinners are anything from curried lentils or homemade quiche, to a "picnic plate" of sliced apples, fancy cheese (mmm, bucheron!), olives, and homemade hummus.
For me, losing weight is about learning portion control while still eating the things I love. As a result, I'm sometimes a little loose with my calories -- I'm trying to learn what it feels like to eat "enough", rather than eating to fullness. So far, this strategy has worked, though the weightloss hasn't been very fast. It would be super encouraging to see the diaries of other people who like to eat the way I do.
Thanks!
