I seem to be the one getting things started lately...
Today is my day off from cardio. In fact, since I've done cardio for the last 4 days straight, I don't need to do any more this week - just yoga sometime over the weekend and a couple more strength routines. I did my strength workout this morning, and will do my pushups tonight. I feel like I am improving faster on the pushups than I expected - I am almost back to where I was before I stopped, and it's only been 3 weeks. I wonder if the additional strength workouts are helping.
I think I've been doing better the past couple of days on my eating, but I have been rather hungry and am afraid that I'm still eating too much to actually lose weight. Although, I might just be hungry because of the 4 days of cardio... Anyway, my goal today is no junk except for one fancy root beer that I bought last night. (I have a thing for root beer, but I hardly ever have it.) I should be able to do a walk after lunch with my co-workers, too.

Morning all! I'm feeling much better, so my goal is not to push too hard. . .It seems like everyone I know has been sick, and that's the pattern that everyone's in: feel awful/rest. . .feel a little better/push too hard. . .feel awful and rest. So, my goal is to be reasonable.
Today is some sort of cardio (probably a shred session later today or a run/walk (gasp) out of doors if the sunlight holds up. I saw my first robin the other day. . .a good sign) and housecleaning (I'm hosting a potluck Sunday afternoon) and shopping for cooking my dish for said potluck. Oh, and hydrating and vitamins and working on my project for two hours.
And, while doing all of that, incorporating my new goal: listening to my body and quitting being so darn hard on myself.
Take care of yourselves!:flowerforyou:0 -
Tomorrow is the big ride. We have a cool front coming through and the high is only going to be 66 (I know you guys are laughing) and the race will start at a cool windy 41 degrees :noway: Lately, it's been in the 80s with lows in the 60s, so this will freeze my Texan butt. Need to do some planning today for the ride.
Also need to make a cake for tomorrow's dinner with friends - my first dessert in a month! I lost another pound!!!! So, this diet will continue. I will pick two days a month to have dessert, continue with the no cow's cheese and no sweeteners. Also no eating standing up - I really think this has helped.
Yesterday - walk/jog. Today - easy walk.

I must be smoking something. :smokin: Right before leaving for Bible study this morning I noticed the fridge wasn't running and something seemed unusually quiet. It was still cold but I figured it just went out. So I am thinking great we need a new fridge. I tell hubby and he starts looking online for one. I get home from study and check on the fridge and it's still quiet but it still feels cold. Then the compressor kicks on. It still doesn't seem as cold in the fridge but maybe it's just me. So now I feel embarrassed for apparently making a deal about nothing. I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever heard the fridge not running. We've had it for two years. So my guess is that something is different in the house. It's very quiet. Something else is not running that usually runs. I feel like a retard.:noway:
Anyway, I have about 2 hours to eat lunch and get the house cleaned up. Maybe less. I feel like a dork now so I don't want to do anything but crawl in a hole. Need to do push ups today and that's going to be about it for exercise. I'll try to eat healthy too.
I need to run. Hope everybody else's refrigerators are running.

Mary, good luck on your ride... especially considering the so-called "cold"! And congratulations on the pound and sticking with the new diet. I am definitely impressed - I wonder if I could do that even for a week?
MM - you'd better go catch it! OK, that was bad.0 -
I just decided I was hard-core enough for shred level 3. Yikes. It is exponentially harder than level 2. I stopped looking at my HRM because I knew it was crazy high. Definitely hardcore interval training. (I did draw the line at jumping jacks with my dumbells, btw.)
That being said. . .300 calories in just under thirty minutes. . .I'll take it. Off to shower and eat popcorn now (it's movie night at my house. . .my once a week allowed to eat in front of the TV moment.)
I'm noticing I have no problems sticking to my calories under my "no eating in front of the TV" regime. I find I'm hungry less often if I have to turn the TV off and sit at the table to eat my food. Except movie night, I now don't eat fruit or veg either in front of the tv. It feels like a huge victory.
:flowerforyou:
Mary, best of luck on the ride. I understand the whole 60 degrees is cold thing, I was born in Florida. I remember my first October (it may have been forty degrees outside) in Ohio crying on my walk across campus because I'd never been so cold in my life.
Oh, and cp, you beat me to the terrible fridge joke.

Hi everyone:
Ohhh so looking forward to this weekend: will work a couple hours but most of it is mine to do whatever.
Lots of chores planned and some errands to do this weekend, but not going to be upset if I do not get through them all.
priority is napping:bigsmile:
Goals for Friday:
1) stay in cals: no, but I did way better ths week then last
2) hydrate: no, and I didnt make much of an effort so no excuse
3) work under 8.5: no but I can see the end now...by the end of next week I should be caught up
4) Exersise three days: not today but any workout I get in this weekend will be a bonus
5) Eat healthier: not really good or bad, no junk food but no veggies or fruit either

Just had to put in my 2 cents. I don't think you should ever swing weights. I know Julian does this a lot - just doesn't seem safe to me.
I just finished my walk. ahhh. I can't believe the person I've turned it to. I used to hate people like me. My exercise is just like my shower - I don't feel quite right without it.0
