That if your overweight and have stretch marks you will have remaining sagging skin when you lose weight and won't be able to get rid of it and if you don't has stretch marks you will have no sagging skin?!!
This really annoyed me , is it true? Personal experience?
I read someone of this site say it on something...

There will always be stretch marks, but I don't think there will be sagging skin that much if you are exercising with ab work, you should be fine. Its the arms that are going to be a pain with sagging skin!0

not an experience with me so much i lost close to 52 lbs over a year period and havnt had issues. but my best friend lost 60 some lbs one summer when we where in our teens and to this day he has loose skin. maybe because he lost it too fast im not sure if that makes a difference or not0

I think it depends on your body, age, how you take care of your skin, etc... When I lost about eighty pounds a few years ago, I didn't have sagging skin, but I was in my early twenties and took really good care of my skin. However, when I gained the weight back rather quickly (after keeping it off for several years) from being an idiot and not taking care of myself (or my skin), I gained horrible stretchmarks.
If you lose the weight at a healthy rate and take care of your skin, it should reduce the severity of the end result. And if you're really young, you might get lucky and have no problem whatsoever.0 -
HOw did you take care of your skin? I mean what ways?0

I'm not aware of any correlation between stretch marks and whether or not your skin will not be loose. Stretch marks usually occur from rapid weight gain/loss. You can have no stretch marks and still have loose skin, I don't think one thing has to do with the other.0

I have strechmarks on the very tops of my arms, near my shoulders. But that is simply because I lost weight, gained it back (and some) and was left like that for about 3 years. 3 years later, they have faded, but they never go (IF you do get them). Now I've lost a decent amount of weight again, they've faded even more. But they'll always be there. There are creams that make them fade out even more, never tried them myself though.
As for loose skin, make sure you work out now and again to keep your skin elastic, so it does not sag. It'll really only sag if you lose a rather large amount of weight in a small amount of time.0 -

I worry about this a little bit (I only have about 25 to lose so I'm hoping it won't be too much) but I try to stay conscious of it and hope taking care of my skin will help. I exfoliate every other day in the shower with an sugar and olive oil scrub, and moisturize at least once a day over my entire body.0 -
Sorry, but just like with pregnancy stretch marks, topical treatments won't help. There is very little you can do to change the elasticity of your skin...it is genetic. Of course, the heavier you were to begin with, the more likely it is that you will have sags that may or may not tighten over time...again, it depends on your genetics.
It is always a good idea to get good nutrition, stay well hydrated, moisturize, and exfoliate. But that will only help you have the best skin it is possible for you to have; it can't change what you were born with.0 -
I would think nutrition is most important for the best chance of avoiding saggy skin as you lose weight. That and of course not losing it too quickly.0

My sis lost over 80lbs and she has a tiny bit of sagging skin on her arms I would have never noticed until she pointed it out.0

HOw did you take care of your skin? I mean what ways?
The most important thing, I've found is SLOW weight loss to avoid sagging skin. 1lb a week is something your body can cope with. When it starts getting faster than that, it seems people have a harder time firming up.0 -
No this is not true at all. Stretch marks appear when someone is over weight however; when someone loses the weight your skin compresses back up because it's no longer stretched. i'm not saying you won't have them anymore but they won't be noticable. It is possible to have a flat stomach and absolutely no flabby arms, all it takes is work on both parts and the results will show.0

It depends on the person and how much they have weighed and how quickly hey lose the weight! If you tone as you go and don't save it till the end, you should be fine! You could also try firming lotion of used coffee grounds in the shower!0

I lost a large amount of weight from age 19 - 22... Approximately 80 kilograms/160lbs .. I have loose skin on my legs, arms and stomach. This hasn't gone away, even with strength training.
Sorry to break the bad news but that is the reality and risk you take when you lose large amounts of weight.0
