I am just starting to look into getting one of these (hopefully with the tax return )
Looking for lower cost (not ready to dive into a $300 until I get more fit and decide to keep running).
Have no idea what features are good to have and what is bad to have.
Would love your feedback, thanks!

I like this one, but I'm partial to Iron Man watches anyway. You can wear the watch even when you're not wearing the HRM band - it's a completely functional Iron Man watch.

Polar is the best.... FT4, FT7, FT40 and FT60.
If you are looking for just the basics(heart rate and calories burned) FT4 and FT7 should suit you fine. Whatever you decide though, make sure it has a chest strap.
I'd stay way from TImex.. They are crap at estimating calories.. esp for women.0
