Does everyone use the myfitnesspal to calculate calories or the machine your are using.
Walked 30 min on treadmill at 2% incline, 4.0mph and it calculated 345 calories, myfitnesspal 191.

When I first started I used what mfp says. Once I got more serious I got a very basic HRM. From the research I have done HRMs are more accurate. If I were to compare, mfp was pretty close on most things except running. I think that is more a reflection of my physical fitness rather than mfp.
For me, machines are always way over.0 -
The 191 is more realistic.0

Thanks, personally the lower number seemed more realistic and I prefer to favor higher on the calorie intake and lower on the exercise to keep me inline. :-)0

I just go by what MFP says but really want to get a HRM to be the most accurate. Good luck!0
