Human In Training

So 4 weeks ago I downloaded an app onto my iPod Touch - Couch to 5K..... then a week ago it occurred to me that I needed to be more aware of what I put in my mouth as well as what I use up.
I can fast for days - I lost 26lbs once by not eating for 16 days but that was a huge mistake for two reasons - 1. I didn't intend to not eat but i was home alone and really busy so didn't bother eating and 2. ended up in the ER with symptoms of a stroke - ugh
So, as my husband says, I'm a Human In Training. I've started eating breakfast (not just black coffee) and even multiple meals in a day - something that is apparently normal to others.
Despite being a size 10/12 according to my BMI I am obese. Depressing. Very depressing. My doctor thinks its because I have a lot of muscle mass bite even so - I don't want diabetes and heart disease!?!??!?!?
So my doctor suggested that my healthy weight should be at the very upper end of the BMI thingy - 170lbs or so. I started last week at 225.4lbs and today I am 221.4lbs. 4 lbs gone which is neat.
Another thing I recently learned as I started eating more and smaller meals is that what I thought was acid reflux may have actually been HUNGER. I would just pop my meds to stop the pain in my stomach but I've also discovered that food - even just a little food appears to work too..... go figure....!
Anyway, I'm onto week 4 of 8 in my running program. It definitely helps that I am off work at the moment so I've got plenty of time to go to the gym and so on.
I have the app on my iPod touch so feel free to add me. I need all the help I can get for the next 55lbs.
