Protein supplements to hit 40 30 30 macros?

I'm trying to eat in the zone with my macros set to 40 carb, 30 fat, 30 protein. I've been coming in fairly close on the fat, a little over on the carbs but that's my fault, but my protein has been quite a bit under - even on days where I'm specifically trying to eat more.
Does anyone use protein supplements to reach a higher than usual protein macro? If so what supplements would you recommend (I keep seeing whey protein mentioned but know little about it)?
I'm a little concerned about giving myself kidney stones.

A) Don't use ratios
It's unlikely high protein intake will give you kidney stones, unless you are already at risk of getting them
It is not likely that diet alone causes kidney stone formation [108]. Rather, metabolic abnormalities are typically the underlying cause [109]. For example, Nguyen et al. [110] found that high intakes of animal protein adversely affected markers of stone formation in those afflicted with a stone causing disorder, while no changes were observed in healthy individuals. It has been suggested that one must have a preexisting metabolic dysfunction before dietary protein can exert an effect relative to stone formation [108]. This notion has been coined the "powderkeg and tinderbox" theory of renal stone disease by Jaeger [111]. This theory asserts that dietary excesses, such as high protein intake, serve as a tinderbox which, only in tandem with a metabolic abnormality (the powderkeg), can bring about stone formation. At the present time, however, evidence showing that a high protein intake is an inherent cause of this renal abnormality or is consistently associated with increased kidney stone formation does not exist.

Find your lean body mass which is total body weight minus your body fat percentage.
Take your newly found lean body mass and eat 1.25grams of protein per LBM
Eat .25-.5 grams of fat per LBM
And fill the rest with carbs. And as far as a 500 cal defecit to lose weight take 10-20% away from your cals depending on your boday fat %. Higher % defecit for higher % bodyfat. Try it out for 2 weeks and see where your at.0 -
i take super advanced whey protien from body fortress...
as for kidney stones, that's only if you really over do it....(plus drink lots of water)
I try to get near my weight in g's of protein, or a little less. (for me, 100g's is good)0 -

These are still ratios
Foods that help me easily hit my protein requirements: Chicken, Tuna, Fish, Pasta, Beef, Greek Yogurt, Cheeses, Eggwhites, Milk and if needed protein powder.0 -

These dont put all of your calories into one category to divide up though, alot of people get too many of a macro they don't need by giving a big ratio to it from total calories. This method is more accurate and has helped me.0 -
