My old car is BERTHA - 2000 Chev Suburban, which my son drives...or will be driving again, once it's out of the shop because he flipped it.

2004 Saturn Vue V6 AWD. She's "chili pepper red," so her name is "Vivi the Vermilion Vixen." Vroom! I adore this car. She's wonderful.

I once had a 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon. When I had the car, its name was "Shaggin' Wagon," even though no shaggin' ever happened in it. After I lived through a very, very, very nasty car wreck in it, its name was changed to "The Lifesaver," or "Aww, I Loved That Car." I really did love it- it had a tow package so it was equipped with a Corvette engine... my sneaky SS Buick woody wagon.
I had a 1985 Ford Crown Victoria LTD, too, with the police interceptor package. (Anyone see the "I love big engines" trend here?) I actually hated that car, but it was a freebie when I needed a new vehicle. Anyway, that car's name was alternately "The Land Yacht" and "That Piece of *kitten*."
I also had a 1990 Chevrolet Lumina. I named her "Black Beauty," because she was black and so pretty. The guy I was dating changed her name on me, though. She became "The Cruiser," because there were a lot of Luminas used as unmarked police cruisers at the time.

    I do! When I was a teenager/in my early 20's I had:

    1990-something Ford Ranger: Fred
1990-something Eagle Summit Wagon: Bernice (a.k.a. The B****mobile)

Now my husband drives a 2003 Toyota Corolla that I've named Sylvia. I drive a blue Mazda Protege named Janet. I've also named our GPS's. The old one was Linda. She was nice, if a little stupid. Now we have a newer version, and she sounds... erm... "stimulated" all the time, so I named her Veronica. She's also stupid.

My new car 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is R2D2 --- I guess I am sort of a nerd.
  • My brother and I share our car, and this baby is our 2nd.
First was a horrible Blue New Beetle called "Flick", short for "Felicity". Current baby is a sexy little Mazda 2 Tamura, called "Zelonya", which means "green" in Russian (though the spelling has been simplified so as not to confuse friends!)

    a '96 Buick LaSabre named Martin <3

My family once had a Ford Tempo we called JJ, which was short for Jehovah Jireh. . . . And when it started to burn anti-freeze like no ones business, my sister and I called it the FX Smoke Machine because we'd roll through intersections in a cloud of smoke and it looked like a special effect for a movie. <3 Miss that car.

I have a white Pontiac Vibe named Georgia, because she carries my friends and me back and forth from Alabama to Georgia a LOT. Poor thing's had a rough life. Two minor accidents with other cars (no damage, but scary), a scraped up side from a concrete post, the other side was keyed by an angry ex, and the front passenger window was smashed (ironically, in Atlanta). I'm still finding bits of glass under my seat... But she's still running great and I can't wait to get her poor scrapes fixed up!

My dad named our GPS Helga. But sadly, she was stolen when the window was broken. Ok, not sadly. He was more than happy to buy a new one. She always directed us the wrong way and got us lost, lol

1977 Ford Galaxy 500 - The Blue Bomber
19__ Chevy Malibu Classic - The Green Machine
1991 Cutlass Sierra - The Cowboy Mobile (It was silver with a blue interior and Cowboys bumper sticker) of sometimes Julian

@ rammsteinsold - how funny, I also had a "Blue Bomber"! It was a 1975 Dodge Coronet, a real tank.

I have a 1989 Civic hatchback that I call "Cricket", because there is a chirping noise coming from the back that I have never been able to locate!

I have a spicy red Kia Forte....his name is dexter and my new gps is lieutenant morgan haha sometimes the husband gets pissed off at her and says F you Deb :)
  • Our family named our trucks more than cars...Won Ton for the one-ton pickup, Black Betty for the black pickup, Angel for the white pickup, Red Sled for the red pickup. The cars were more based on the make/model than color...Box for the Scion XB, Lesbaru for the Subaru, etc.
  • All my cars have shared the same name - Betsy. now that I have two cars, they are named Red Betsy and Black Betsy :-)
Ha! I have a Betsy too. It's a 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora and her name is Brown Betsy, Betsy for short. We also have Black Beauty, a 2007 Saturn Aura and Whitey, a 1997 Mercury Tracer Wagon. The 1978 Ford f-100 has no name but is affectionately referred to as "the ol' truck" as it belonged to my late father.

    Me!

My black 09 Tiguan is Tiguan Woods (especially fitting since the Tiguan is associated with the Golf..Tiger is a golfer...)
My old Volvo is painted bright turquoise and named Mermaid Man (formerly Black Betty when it was black)
My mom's blue/purple Cabrio is Waterman (she thought the color looked like the ink of Waterman pens)
    Former cars:
My dad's Taurus was Lurch (it always lurched when you hit the gas)
A Passat Wagon named Catherine the Grape Mobile (we bought it used right after someone totaled our other wagon; We were in desperate need of a replacement ASAP so we bought it without realizing it smelled like grape koolaid. The smell didn't go away...we didn't keep her too long)
A Passat sedan named Anwar Passat (you know it's funny.)
    A Golf named Berta
