Lowering sodium intake

How do you lower your sodium intake without it lowering your calorie intake? I'm finding it difficult getting to my 1400 calories goal without going over in sodium. Does anyone have suggestions for snacks or meals that would give sufficient calories without the sodium being too high?

I have issues with my sodium as well. I have found fresh fruits and veggies (or cooked) are great snacks with little to no sodium. And if you add them to a meal with lean meat it shouldn't be high in protein. My problem is I like hot sauce and soy sause which is bad in regards to sodium. Also, Greek yogurt isn't high in sodium, but it has a good number of protein and calories so it's a great snack or addition to a meal.0

Eat as fresh and as natural as possible - that means lots of fresh fruits and veggies!0

Without seeing your diary it's hard to comment specifically about your foods, but here's my 2 cents. Limit the prepackaged foods (frozen meals, etc) and try to focus on eating lean meats, veggies and whole grains. I do a ton of crock pot cooking - throw a bag or two of frozen veggies and some chicken into the pot with a bit of low sodium chicken broth and spices. Pretty low in sodium.
For breakfast, try eating oatmeal. Almost no sodium, and it should keep you full.0 -
the best way is to avoid all condiments and salad dressings unless they are homemade. Fresh and homemade with little or no processed food id the way to go.0
