Wow it's early - and windy - and cold. The wind chill is 30 degrees. I don't care where you live, that's too cold to go for a 4 hour bike ride. The winds are going to pick up to about 20 mph around 9-10am, with gusts up to 35 mph. I think I'm going to see some people get knocked over today. I keep reminding myself that I chose to do this. I miss yoga week!
This will be my last long, organized, bike ride of the season. I'm missing the one at the end of April because I'm teaching yoga that morning - and I don't have the heart to ask my teacher to find another sub - though I really want to do the ride. I wanted to do a 50 mile before the summer. Maybe I'll do another search.

Here's hoping the wind's at your back, Mary!
Today, I have lots to do. . .I have to finish tidying the house (yesterday I broke my cardinal labour-saving rule of housecleaning: never clean in the daylight. . .so I ended up cleaning for about three hours) buy some supplies for the party tomorrow (I'm making sangria and black beans and rice. . .and through the magic of potluck, everyone else is bringing something.) and make it to Bikram by 3. I guess that's not really that much, but any chores with a deadline (I have to leave for yoga by 2:30) are always intimidating.
So, to summarize: groceries, cooking, Bikram boogaloo.
Oh, and hydrating. Plenty of hydrating.
Take care of yourselves.:flowerforyou:0 -
Morning. Mary I hope the ride goes well for you! Stay warm!
V, I hope your party goes well!
Hello to everyone else!
I have to clean this morning for the prayer meeting tonight, which I do not think I will be here for. My mom and sis want to take Alex and I to Rainforest Cafe. We'll have to see if Alex can handle that. He may be overstimulated. I also have to run a couple of errands and I think we are going to walk the mall tonight. I also have some baking to do.
Alex came into our room sneezing this morning and his nose is a constant river. Gross. I thought we had beat the bug. I get really creeped out with germs. I should just accept the fact that it's nearly impossible not to get sick when everyone else in the family has it, but I have no symptoms so I will continue to avoid the germs as much as possible. Alex may just have really bad allergies this morning since it is very windy and cold. We may have even had snow flurries last night! :noway:
I'm done. I need to get breakfast.
Have a great weekend!

Alex and I to Rainforest Cafe. We'll have to see if Alex can handle that. He may be overstimulated.
I have heard that this place is very overstimulating for kids, and there are "thunderstorms" that scared the bejeebers out of my grandkids (or at least the little boy, who's four).
Just FYI. . .I'd hate for it to be a bad experience.:flowerforyou:0 -
He's been there a few times before and did fine, but with family being here and the OT overstimulating him last night, then I just don't know. He'll probably be fine while it's going on and then let me have it later, which is what he usually does.
We may go to Red Robin instead if the character is going to be walking around. He loves Red Robin.

If he's been there before, than those things aren't a worry.
My grandson (stepgrandson, for the record) is a delicate little flower, and had I known about the thunderstorms, I could have prepared him. My granddaughter was laughing hysterically and clapping her hands during them. . .proof positive that every child is different.

No gym for me today! There is about 4-6 inches of snow on the ground and it's suppose to keep falling for the rest of the day. Everything on post that isn't required to be open is closed (so we only have gas stations and the grocery store. Needless to say I do have to drive in it today so instead of my 30 min ride to the next town I can plan on at least an hour just to get out there!
So today is going to be house cleaning, laundry, and staying warm!!!0 -
I hope your ride goes well, Mary - don't fall over! Renae, bummer about the snow - I hate those late March storms. Feels so unfair. MM, *I* find the Rainforest Cafe overstimulating - good luck!
I am not feeling terribly motivated to do my strength routine today - it's nice out and I just want to go out and sit in the sun. I think will do my pushup test tomorrow morning.
Sunshine boogaloo! :flowerforyou:0 -
Oh my hell was that hard. 4 hours and 10 minutes of riding. It took us a 5 hours to finish. Burned, are you ready for this, 1952 calories. It was like doing 4 spin classes with a 15 minute break in-between each one. The wind made it miserable. There were times we were going less than 6 mph. Everyone I heard said how much it hurt. My legs were on fire for the last half of the ride.
That said, it would have been a great ride without the wind. The cold wasn't that bad.
Lay in bed boogaloo,

Hi everyone,
Mary: I would be doing the "out cold" boogaloo
Renae: Where do you live again......it is the end of March, not fair for you
Saturday goals:
1) Stay in cals: not today! One meal out with my friend brought me really darn close to my allowance:noway: and I will not be deprived of dinner. Next week I think I will modify my goals a bit about splurge days instead of daily cal goals
2) Eat heallthier: I had a burger and I might as well have pizza for dinner.... great choices eh? LOL But they were very tasty
3) Hydrate: Well this was my new goal this week and I have not done well with it at all, I need a plan for next week
4) Errands and chores: Got majority of my errands done, chores tomorrow
5) I got my three days of exersise in this week. First time:happy: so if I can do that for one more week I will pump it up to four workouts goal
Talk to you tomorrow,
Sleepin' in boogaloo
