How many calories should I be eating?

I find that every web site I go to to calculate this tells me something different. MFP has me eating 1200 calories a day - some other websites say I should be eating 1400. I have seen some that say almost 1600. Who do I believe? I've been sticking very close to 1200 calories a day but I don't seem to be seeing results. But even if I were eating too little, I should have shown a loss for the first couple of weeks before it slowed, right? But I've lost only 1 lb over the last 3 weeks (my ticker says 3 lbs; this isn't accurate, it's only because I bought a new scale). Is 1200 too much for a small framed person? I'm totally confused. What is the best way to calculate my deficit (other than spending a fortune on a body bug)?
