My girlfriend and live pretty far apart from eachother and only get to see eachother ocassionally. We are both good about eating right while we're away from eachother. But when we see eachother we love to go out and eat and drink. This time when she's here for 2 weeks were gonna work on eating at home with our normal healthy diets and try to work in some more exercise. I have been thinking of things like playing golf, going for hikes and stuff like that. Anyone one else have some good advice thats not "go to the gym"?

Thanks!

This might sound silly but my husband and I (and the kids) play wii games together. My husband and I played "Just Dance" the other day nonstop for 45 min. We felt like kids, being silly and having fun. It didn't feel like we were "working out" but I can tell you that it kicked my hiney. ;)

My husband and I had a long distance relationship while we were dating for almost five years and we were the exact same way. We always ate and drank so much more when we were together. For us, any activities that get us out and doing something are good. We have nice trails in our area which are awesome for walking or biking. Ice skating or golf or bowling are nice alternatives to spending a night at a bar or restaurant. Also, of course, hankie pankie is a great way to burn calories ;)

My husband and I love to go hiking, to the beach, and also kayaking. If you live near a lake or beach you can rent a kayak and paddle around checking out the sights. It's a blast! You two could also go to a local park that has a circuit training area and walk/jog the park, stopping to do the circuit exercises at each station. If you do want to go out somewhere and eat together, you can always pack a picnic full of fresh, healthy foods and hike to a pretty spot and then have lunch, that's always a nice way to spend the day. We love to go swimming in the creeks in our local mountains and at the beach (although I guess this isn't really the time for most states to go swimming, it's been fairly warm here lately lol.) Do both of you have a bike? Go for a bike ride together! You can rent them sometimes if you don't have one.

I second the Wii games too, they are a lot of fun! My family plays them together, and if my husband didn't work so much he would probably play them with us too.

You could also buy a Twister game and play that. Get some fun and activity in indoors.

Cooking healthy meals in the kitchen together is fun too! Throw on some music and dance together.

Maybe you could research a couple of ice activities before she comes out and then surprise her when she gets there!

Cycling or walking are fun to do together. Is there anywhere scenic near you where you can hire bikes or kayaks or peddle boats or anything that gets you moving? Then if you stop and have a coffee afterwards you've already burnt it off!
Or go out dancing or bowling or play mini golf..... have fun!
