Calorie levels when doing P90X/Insanity Hybrid

Hi MFP family need your help I have a question because I am getting real discouraged about doing the BB workouts!! While doing a Hybrid such as P90X/Insanity which meal plan should I follow? I always get discouraged by the large amount of calories they say to consume. Ladies did you eat the large cal amounts allotted doing these programs? If so how were your results?

    I've just started doing P90x and from what I can see the alloted calorie amounts are what you need to eat to maintain your weight. You need to subtract either 500 (1lb a week) or 1000 (2lbs a week) from that total. That puts me around 1400 a day. If I ate 2400 cal a day I'd be gaining weight!
