HRM question

Does anyone wear their HRM all day long? If so, would you count your calories burnd or is that already figured into your calories that MFP gives you? I guess this kind of sounds like a silly question but I am not sure how it works. Thanks for the input!

MFP's number is based on your basal metabolic rate, which is what your body burns in normal biological functions. You burn so many calories a day just breathing, mending/repairing tissue, pumping blood through your body, etc. As far as the HRM, I wouln't count anything unles you are actually exercising(walking included).0

I believe MFP figures what you'd burn if you sat around all day (your BMI or Basal Metabolic Rate) into your daily calories, so you wouldn't want to count anything but your exercise calories, as those would be extra. And my HRM would eventually lose the reading if I wore it all day since the sensors on the chest strap have to be wet (usually from the sweat during a workout) to work properly. Does that help?0

I've been wearing my HRM all day today just for curiosity's sake. I wondered how much I burn and how close it is to what MFP estimates. I can honestly say that I burn far more than I ever thought I would. Definitely follow your HRM reading as opposed to your MFP estimates.0
