Hi all!

I have just recently started using my BodyMedia Fit armband, and though I was really excited about the promise it held, I am not overly impressed with it thus far.
I set it for my height & weight but it really appears to be overestimating my calorie expenditure.

And does anyone know, can it be calibrated?

And in the Activity Manager, under calorie expenditure, does that include the BMR?

Argh I am just not sure it is what I was looking for!

ANY help/info/tips would be Greatly Appreciated!! Thanks!!!!!

You may have already given up on this, but the calorie expenditure shown includes your BMR - it shows your total calorie expenditure for the day and does not need any adjusting.

This number minus your calories eated will give you your calorie deficit for the day.

However, I also agree that my calorie expenditure is being overestimated. When I am sat perfectly still I'm burning 1.4cals a minute, which over the course of the day would lead me to believe my bodymedia FIT BMR is 2016. This seems very high to me when my BMR calculated through other means is 1550 ish.

However, I am going to trust the readings for a month or so, and keep my deficit at 1000 (which is awesome as now I can eat a lot more!) to see what happens. I am willing to believe that I have been undereating and starving my body up to now and my weightloss could be accelerated by eating more.

    Steph x
