For my internship in March, part of my uniform is a one-piece bathing suit. Well, I always have a problem with bathing suit bottoms (even now ~30 pounds lighter), because my butt is too big! So curvy girls, where do you get your one pieces from? Please help!

I've always had luck with the ones that look like a mini dress... their cute and the little skirt helps me feel better about my "curves" :blushing:

    I have a beautiful halter style one-piece from Dillard's.

It's a lot like this one:

    55870?$product_main$

Look for suits that have rouching at the waist and a little bit of pattern either on the fabric or texture. This will help slim your look.

Try Dillard's, JCPenney, and Lane Bryant (if you are plus size). They usually have good nice flattering suits.

Does it have to be one piece? You might be able to mix and match some cute bather shorts with a tankini top.

I always got my one-piece from a sporting goods store (like ****'s)

But then again I only used it for when I was on the swim team. Lol

edit: LMAO. I can't believe they censored out D I CK ' S Sporting Goods.
  • I buy my bathing suits by my bra size. There is one brand that sells suits by the bra size that is also a bit longer in the body for taller women and I buy those. They do cost a bit more but they last. I find I get best coverage this way.

I can never find a one piece that fits well, as my bust is a lot bigger than my bum and my torso is quite short (I'm only 4 ft 8)...

Can you get away with a two piece, but with a tankini instead of bikini style top? That might be easier to find...

    Board shorts or sarong...
  • The swimdresses are lovely. I'd love to get one but aren't sure how they'd go with length swimming.

They drag too much for length swimming, but they are super cute.

You're best off with a Nike one-piece or Speedo one-piece (TYR is awesome too) for laps.

  • i also love swimdresses, they make me look and feel slimmer, and hide the parts i dont want to show off (bum, thighs, tummy). There are some really cute ones out there that dont look like granny suits

I'm interning at Island Dolphin Care in Key Largo..and it's required that I wear a one-piece. No two-pieces whatsoever :( I'm mostly concerned about my butt. I'm not heavy, but I have a BIG butt! Haha
  • When it comes down to womens swimwear, it is often thought that less equals more. These days, however, and the introduction of older fashions coming back around, it would appear that you do not have to bare every inch of your skin in order to be classified as sexy.
