Not giving up

Today I had I minor setback with my eating, I ate way to much. In the past when I try to lose weight I give up and call myself a failure. This time it's different. I'm going to prove myself wrong, I can do this and I will do this. It's something I wanted for the longest time and I've always given up. This year it's going to be different, this time I'm not quitting until I'm at my goal weight, and who knows I might even go a little further than that!

Never give up! If you only averaged 1/2 pound of weight loss per week, that is 26 pounds in one year! 52 in two! SImply cutting out an unhealthy snack or sugary soda would do that. So it's not as hard as it seems. Look at it as a long term endeavor. Not one that can be reached in a couple of months. I lost 4.5 pounds in the first 2 weeks of January. Then I gained 2 (without overeating). Then I dropped 2. In the beginning, your body adjusts to the abrupt changes. That first month is a mind-wrecker, but hang in there!0

That's the spirit. Be kind to yourself and always keep in mind you didn't develop unhealthy habits overnight, so you can't expect yourself to undo them overnight. Do the best you can with each day as it comes.0

Hi Five to you! Way to forgive and move on! I used to do the same thing..one slip up and it was all over for me. Now, no guilt, just positive self talk and move on. Let's keep onward and downward!0

Fantastic attitude!
I've been on MFP for over a year now and I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't really matter what "diet" you follow or whether you have a crummy eating day here and there - if you just keep going with more good days than bad days, you will see results over time.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll get there.0
