I modified a recipe that I got from my cousin. She said that the regular version is very filling and curbs the sweet tooth, so this one should too!!
Lower Calorie Cinnamon Roll Cake!!
CAKE:
3 cups Whole Wheat Flour
1/4 teaspoon Salt
½ cup Stevia (or 1 cup Splenda)
4 teaspoons Baking Powder
1 1/2 cups Unsweetened Almond Milk
6 Tbsp Egg Whites (equivalent to 3 egg’s whites or sub 2 whole eggs*)
2 teaspoons Vanilla
1/2 cup applesauce (or melted butter*)
TOPPING:
½ cup ( 1 sticks) Butter, softened
½ cup applesauce (or sub another stick of butter*)
1 cup Splenda Brown Sugar Blend
2 Tablespoons Flour
1 Tablespoon Cinnamon
GLAZE:
2 cups Powdered Sugar
5 Tablespoons Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla
*this substitution increases calories
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×13 glass baking pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
In an electric or stand mixer add the flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, milk, egg whites, and vanilla. Once combined well, slowly stir in the applesauce. Pour into the prepared 9×13 baking pan.
For topping, In a large bowl mix the butter, applesauce, brown sugar, flour and cinnamon together until well combined and creamy. Drop evenly over the batter by the tablespoonfuls and use a knife to marble/swirl through the cake.
Bake at 350 for 28-32 minutes or when a toothpick inserted near the center comes out nearly clean.
FOR GLAZE: In a medium bowl, mix the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla together with a whisk. Drizzle evenly over the warm cake. Serve warm or at room temperature.

This sounds heavenly! Just a quick question...how well do the peices hold together? I have to make a bar of some sort for my son's 8th grade choir soup/salad/bar fundraiser on the 9th.0

It is fairly dense, so they hold together just like any normal cake would. I would skip the glaze with that fundraiser though...kind of messy0

MUST TRY MUST TRY MUST TRY! I have been craving cinnamon buns forever! Merci!0

Hmmm...interested in this one. Does your nutrition info include the calories in the splenda?0
