Does it matter what foods you eat as long as you are under your calorie limit? The title was too long, sorry 'bout that :)

I've seen different answers to this and I'm still adjusting to my lifestyle changes I've made, but I'd like to know if the calories are more important than what you're actually eating so I can know if I need to make more changes or not.

Really sorry for that sentence hahahaha so basically just answer the title, please!

Here is the thing.....sure you can lose weight eating under your calorie goal, even if it's junk food...however, you will most likely be depriving your body of nutrients it needs and just the over all health benefits of eating better foods.

    You are what you eat.....

For weight loss - it's all about the calories, it doesn't really matter where they come from.
For health - it's a really good idea to pay attention to the quality of the food as well as the number of calories.

Yes!!!! The food really matters. It is tempting with MFP at first to just focus on calories but you also want to have good health (now and down the line), good energy, mental focus, and nice skin right? If you eat more real whole healthy foods you will feel more full with less calories as well. Today I ate lots of fruits and veggies, had the energy to workout twice, and have calories left over because I ate the right foods. The days I don't get my nutrients I feel hungry even if going over calories and I know it hurts my health.
