There aren't enough hours in the day!

This last week and a half has been a trying one and there doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to hit the gym. Between work, school, running the house and raising a 9 year old I am finding it a little rough to hit the gym.
Does anyone get up an hour early to go in the a.m.? I was thinking about getting up a 5 to run to the gym work out and run back then start the morning routine at 6, work from 8-4, dinner/cleaning from 5-6:30, School from 7-9:30, homework down time from 9:30-12. Does that sound like it would work?
Any suggestions?

If you do decide to give that a try, shoot for only a few times a week. Sleep is also important for weight loss.
The other suggestions I would have for you is to seek help and lighten your load a bit. Is there someone that could help you by making dinner and cleaning up twice a week so you can work out?
Could you actually plan a simple supper and skip the cleaning one or two nights a week to make space for a work out?
What about at lunch time? Do you have time to take a 20 minute walk during your lunch break?
Instead of focusing on the gym, try a pedometer. That way you can track your activity and shoot for 10,000 steps even if you only get them 10 minutes at a time.
I offer these suggestions because the morning workout would be difficult for me to sustain for the long term. You may not be the sleepyhead that I am.0 -
I do the getting up early thing to get in my workouts. I get to the gym at 4:30 on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday mornings. Then on Saturday mornings I get there about 5:45 am. I was never a morning person but I really find the early mornings work for me. I feel so much better all day long.0

I hear you loud and clear!!!
I have 3 kids of my own, and inhome daycare ( 1 of mine + 5 others ) from 7-5:30 , a sewing business ( my passion ) and need time for the gym... And ballet for my daughter, and physio for me... And Monday my husband works till 9:00 pm and Friday is date night...
There just simply isn't enough time every day to do ALL of the things that are important.
( I have a quick workout Monday night when hubby gets home - 40 minutes - because otherwise I'm up too late. I have a full workout Tuesday after ballet, Wednesday evening , Thursday night after physio.. I skip Friday & Saturday, and go for an EARLY workout Sunday before Hubby goes to work. )0 -

What time do you get to bed in the evenings?0 -
I haven't started this yet. I think I'm going to try for Monday and see how it goes.
There just isn't anyone available to take the load, I asked my kid to put away her clothes and they've been sitting on the floor for 2 weeks now, its driving me nuts! So clean all the things!0 -
Sorry I didn't check in till just now!
I usually go to be about 8:30 when I am going to the gym in the morning. About 10 on other nites.
How did you make out on Monday? Did you get to go in the morning?
I don't know what time your kids get up the in the morning, but when I get back from the gym I get my hubby and daughter out the door and actually have about 1/2 hour to get housework done before I start getting ready for work myself. I find I have a lot of energy and it feels good to get these things done during the day and have more time for other things on the weekends.0
